About Us

Chuck Smith – Owner/President

Rhino Demolition Owner Chuck Smith brings an Environmental Science background along with 26 years of experience in the environmental industry. While serving in the U.S. Special Operations Command, he was in charge of the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Division. He also served with the Health Hazards Control Branch in the Air Enforcement Division before moving on to the private industry and forming Rhino Demolition & Environmental Services, Corp. Chuck's experience in the Armed Forces and private industry has taken him from hands on field work to providing expert solutions in the environmental field which puts Rhino above his peers in the industry.

Chuck's high commitment to safety and excellent ratings is reflected in his adherence to all OSHA, EPA and state regulations. By his constant training of his employees and governing state rules, Rhino is known in the industry as the company you can call and count on to get the job done safely, on time and under budget.

Chuck Provides leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry. He develops strategic plans to advance the company's mission and objectives to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. He Oversee company operations to insure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.

In his spare time, Chuck enjoys the outdoors, boating, fishing, motorcycles, and camping, along with spending family time and participating in activities with his wife and four sons.

Jacob Smith – Vice President

Jake has grown up with Rhino Demolition the past 10 years. He began in the field as a worker and with constant training and learning of the trade from the ground up, he now oversees the day-to-day operations.

As Vice President Jake Helps oversee and manage the business. He sees it that the operation of the company is at its fullest. He uses and thinks of strategic methods to improve processes leading to the success of the company. He helps provide guidelines in operation to ensure maximum success. He provides helpful programs to attain growth and profit for the business. He is able to create higher ROI and optimization of work flow. He implements better procedures and management methods. He helps generate strategies and policies associated with the goals of the organization. Jake has superb oral and written communication skills. He is able to inspire and keep effective working relationship with employees and partners. To accomplish goals, he relies on work experience and planned judgement. He is effective in reaching company goals by being creative. He demonstrates leadership skills and management skills.

Away from work, he enjoys being with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys living at the beach and making the short trip to the mountains. He enjoys watching Professional and College Sports, Fishing, Boating, and volunteering time coaching youth wrestling.

Justine West – Office Manager/Executive Assistant

Justine has been with Rhino Demolition for many years and holds a key role in the company's internal operation. At any given day she wears multiple hats and deals with a wide range of tasks. She is truly a "Jack of all trades." She handles the day-to-day administrative tasks that have been assigned by the executive team along with a list of others. She works well within time constraints and often under extreme pressure. Here is a list of some duties:

Maintains Schedules, Provides Technical Support for field Supervisors/Managers, Serves as a Liaison between staff, vendors, and customers, Documentation, Writes cost proposals, Filing, Coding, Processes Payroll & Certified Payroll, Processes Payables & Receivables, Manages multiple tasks, Attending phone calls from current & potential clients, Conducts research, Maintains business & personnel licensing, Coordinates continuing education classes, travel coordinator, Communicates both written and verbal, Suggesting improvements, Safeguarding information, Coordinates events, Office inventory management, and coordinates project details.

She has a BA in International Studies from George-Mason University. She studied at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia as a part of the Study Abroad Program.

Away from work she enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing on the beach, watching movies, traveling, and trying different types of food.

Steve Yount – Project Estimator/Safety Manager

Steve comes to Rhino Demolition from a large Construction Company in Hickory, North Carolina. He has over 40 years' experience from every aspect of a Construction site. Professional experience includes; Construction of Industrial Sites, Warehouses, Distribution centers, Commercial projects, Retail stores, Malls, Grocery Stores, Medical offices and facilities, and Educational Facilities such as Schools, and Colleges. Also, Constructing Hotel sites for clients such as Hilton and Hampton Inn. He has come on board with Rhino and has quickly made an impact.

As a project estimator, also known as the cost estimator, he serves a vital function in the growth of Rhino Demolition. He is responsible for accurately calculating the total costs associated with a Renovation/Demolition Project. He may also review bids offered by subcontractors in order to choose the most cost effective option. Involvement with vendors is also key, and he may spend time visiting various subcontractors and negotiating with service professionals and suppliers. After careful calculations, he will then forecast the production costs within a given timetable. He is able to manage the high stress of tight deadlines and the major responsibility of accurately forecasting the budget for a project.

As the Safety Manager he looks after the safety and precautionary measures in different working environments. He is delegated to ensure that the organization and business adhere to safety standards set by federal and state laws. He plays a vital role in the workplace and is responsible for planning and implementing measures to ensure that work hazards are reduced. He installs Tool Box Safety Training sheets for each Supervisor or on-site Safety Officer on their specific job to be completed each month. He has excellent interpersonal skills, and interacts with groups of people to advocate best safety practices.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with his wife, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and enjoying everything that comes with living at the beach.
